where: Los Feliz, Barnsdall Art Park, 4800 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles, Ca
how much: $5-$30

the Whaddup:
Normally a wine tasting doesn’t sound like a very kid-friendly event. But this isn’t your normal wine tasting. Take a look around Barnsdall Art Park as the sun is setting from the gated gardens of the historic Hollyhock House. Silverlake Wine presents four selections of boutique, small production, artisanal wines from around the globe. Folks brings blankets and picnics (or get treats from a selection of changing food trucks, which usually includes kid favorites like Let’s Be Frank and Cool Haus), there is a DJ, arts and crafts for kids, and a general community party atmosphere. Kids are welcome, and the $5 entrance fee for kids gets them a juice box tasting and the chance to do some fun crafts.
All profits from the wine tastings benefit Barnsdall Art Park Foundation programs and projects, such as Free Sunday Art Classes for children and families in the community, as well as capital projects like the Monument Sign.
Tickets for adults are $30 (including a limited edition wine glass) and available online only. Due to security and occupancy requirements, children over the age of 3 (and adults who attend but do not partake in the wine tasting) require tickets to attend.
