the Whaddup:
With music, speakers, ecological artists, innovative environmental demonstrations, non-profit organizations, biodegradable & sustainable solutions, organic food & beverages, a free bio-diesel shuttle, and native planting, this is an Earth Day with something for all ages and all cultures. For the kids there will be a Prayer for Peace flag painting workshop, musical instruments making, tree planting and storytelling, face painting, loom and hand spinning, cooking on a parabolic dish an Alice in Wonderland tea party and more.
Note: This is a new location for the festival. There is no parking on Old Topanga Road, you must park and take a shuttle. For more info about parking and shuttles, check the website.

Big Bunny’s Spring Fling

Big Bunny’s Spring Fling brings fun activities and entertainment for all L.A. Zoo visitors! Entertainment includes pet a fuzzy bunny, have your face painted, make a be-a-bunny craft, have your photo taken with Big Bunny (additional fee), and enjoy children’s musical entertainment.

Friday Night Jazz at LACMA

Don’t forget blankets, sweaters, chairs and a picnic to while you lounge on the grass and listen to the jazz… Every Friday from April 18th through the end of June, you can hear a free jazz concert at LACMA in the grand entrance.
Bring the kids early to snag great seats and let them run around Hancock Park, rolling down the hill and exploring the tar pits before the concert starts. And remember that the museum is free to all Los Angeles County residents after 5 p.m. on Fridays (Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays too!), so be sure to check out the latest exhibits.

“Bears” Roars into the El Capitan

Explore the Museum gardens where your little scientist will meet new friends who not only call the garden home, but also keep it healthy.
The Saturday class is free with paid Museum admission. No reservations required, but tickets are very limited, so arrive early! (Check-in at the Dueling Dinos in the Grand Foyer.)

World City Music Presents Mongolian Music

Khukh Tenger is a dance group that performs the unique dance traditions, customs and rituals of Mongolia’s nomadic people. Huun-Huur-Tu is a music group that practices a traditional art called khoomei or “throat-singing.” Together the present an amazing morning of Mongolian art and culture for kids to soak up!
Be sure to take advantage of the fun, free workshops where kids explore the featured culture through unique art-making projects such as calligraphy, puppets, musical instruments, accordion books, textile projects and more.
Performance takes place at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Free tickets are distributed on Grand Avenue at 2nd Street. Tickets for 11 a.m. performance are distributed beginning at 10 a.m. Tickets for 12:30 p.m. performance are distributed beginning at 11 a.m.
