Celebrate the Holidays by Viewing Spectacular Holiday Light Displays
Candy Cane Lane is a group of homeowners at Lubao & Oxnard Streets in
Woodland Hills who each year to put on an amazing holiday display
of lights and decorations.There is no contact information for Candy Cane Lane,
as it is an informal decision of homeowners.
It’s located at the intersection of Lubao and Oxnard Streets (by Pierce Collage)
in Woodland Hills. People drive slowly down the street with their headlights dimmed
so that everyone can enjoy the lights. The closest exit is Winnetka, off of the 101 freeway.
**Residents ask that visitors drive by no later than 10pm on weeknights
and 11pm on weekends. Many residents turn off their lights after this
time to discourage viewing.**
Directions:
From the 101 freeway in the West part of the San Fernando Valley in Woodland Hills
exit at Winnetka Avenue.
Drive north on Winnetka Ave, when just across from Pierce Junior College turn right
on Oxnard Street. If there is a traffic jam try parking and walk.
Candy Cane Lane has been a tradition in Woodland Hills since 1952 and the residents
have tried to outdo each other with their light displays each year. Santa has been seen
posing for photos with children and some of Santa’s elves have been seen roaming.

On Saturday the Santa Monica Pier becomes way more shredtastic! The Shredtopia Festival takes over the Pier for a day full of music, skateboarding, beer and food. ShredHouse brings 30 of the best amateur skateboarders competing for a $5,000 prize. Live musical performances by Radical Something, Jet West and Dogtown and Z- Boys own Tony Alva and his band His Eyes Have Fangs and a surprise headliner. Stone Brewery presents the beer garden and DogTown Dogs and The Grilled Cheese Truck are onsite to feed the crowd. Tickets: $15-$40.

It’s not often you’ll find Pershing Square under a blanket of the cold white stuff. For the kids, they’ll be make & take kids’ crafts, puppet shows, a visit with Santa, photos, and more. From Friday, November 27 through Sunday, January 3 there will be new awe-inspiring features providing a new spin on holiday lights in Griffith Park, L.A. ZOO LIGHTS. It sets the Zoo’s enchanting environment aglow with breathtaking displays, among them thousands upon thousands of LED lights, flurries of illuminated snowflakes, stunning 3-D animated projections and glittering light tunnels. A fanciful menagerie of animal characters include mischievous animated monkeys scampering through the grounds, a glowing 130-foot snake coiled on a roof, a hillside with snowboarding “lizards,” 3-D animated elephants wearing colorful holiday sweaters, an origami-type rhino lit from within and so much more.
Cost: Tickets for GLAZA members are $11 for adults/seniors and $10 for children ages 2 to 12 on Mondays through Thursdays (except on December 21, 22 and 23 when tickets are the same as weekend prices), and.
