You can join FoLAR’s education team for their weekly educational series at the Frog Spot. They will cover three themes: the Past, Present and Future of the river, through June, July, and August, respectively. Each Sunday they discuss a new topic related to the theme of that month. Following the discussion, visit with them for an activity down in the channel at 1 pm: beautifying, cleaning up, or taking a nature walk. Be sure to keep coming back each week for exciting, new topics and engaging activities!
This week we explore the LA Aqueduct. As Los Angeles’ population grew, more and more water was needed to sustain its citizens. The Los Angeles River could not support us all, so the LA Aqueduct was built to bring water into the city from the Owens River Valley.
