CicLAvia gets rid of those pesky cars from L.A. streets – and the streets fill up with smiles! Those are their words, not mine. But, they’re kinda true. This Sunday CicLAvia returns to the streets that started it all, downtown Los Angeles. Get our there and explore on bike, foot, stroller and people have fun with it and find many more creative means of locomotion.
This route features six miles for participants to check out, taking people through Boyle Heights, the Arts District, Little Tokyo, Civic Center, Chinatown, Historic Core and as far west as Macarthur Park.

25th SHERMAN OAKS STREET FAIR

The largest event in the entire San Fernando Valley—is scheduled for Sunday, October 18 from 10am to 6pm. Located on Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks, California, the fair stretches 9 blocks from Van Nuys Blvd. to Kester Blvd. Admission is free and up to 100,000 people are expected again this year.
The event features live music of all sorts, nearly 200 vendors and displays, food courts, a beer, wine, and cocktail garden, classic cars, antique fire trucks from the LAFD Historical Society, carnival rides, a Kids Zone, raffle prizes, and much more. It’s right down the street, are you going?

Tapia Bros Pumpkin Patch

Pumpkin patch- already gathered from the field, Fall festival, train rides, corn maze, tractor-pulled hay rides, Bounce house, farm market, concessions / refreshment stand, porta-potties, picnic area, farm animals, birthday parties, school tours. I love this place because it’s smaller, simpler than the huge festivals” Now through October 31.
If you don’t want to put miles on the car in search of your magic pumpkin, Tapia is a low mileage alternative that gives you that far away farm feel.

Boney Island Opening Weekend!

A little further down the road, up actually. I guess it depends on your perspective. The Calabasas Pumpkin Festival offers live bands, a dj dance zone, marketplace vendors, delicious food & pumpkin treats, pumpkin beer, pumpkin painting, professional pumpkin carving and so much more! The low $5 admission price includes all inflatables & a giant slide, Halloween carnival games, reptiles & bug shows, contests, a Saturday morning costume parade plus car displays, bands, and a Business Expo.
This isn’t your Grandma’s pumpkin festival. But since Calabasas translated is squash, it’s a no brainer.
