Free Kids Workshops “Make a Valentine’s Mailbox” @ Home Depot

Join the folks at HD in a hands-on workshop and build a wooden Valentines mailbox to hold all your child’s valentine cards from their favorite friends, well, everyone really. After the mailbox is built, your child can personalize their project with paint.
All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron and pin.

For two days, the LA Convention Center becomes cookie heaven. The LA Cookie Con and Sweets Show is the West Coast’s biggest baking and pastry convention. Last year’s show was so popular that this year LA Cookie Con has expanded to two days with three times the exhibit space!
Attendees can enjoy samples from vendors offering cookies, candy, chocolate, coffee, ice cream, beverages and savories. Classes, demonstrations and activities are held throughout the day, including fondant work, pastry decorating, baking, candy apple making, Memories can be preserved at the free photo booth.
As if being surrounded by cookies wasn’t enough to keep any kid happy, the show also features a Kidzone , where kids can enjoy face painting by Urban Sitter, cookie decorating by Baking with Melissa, activities by Mommy Nearest and celebrity appearances by stars of Masterchef Junior and YouTube.
Celebrity chefs include& Ron Ben Israel and Rosanna Pansino .
Think your special diet will leave you out of the fun? Not so! The event features Paleo, Gluten-Free and Vegan exhibitors.
THE PEANUT GALLERY: A CHARLIE BROWN THEMED ART SHOW (Art)
Nerdist Showroom at Meltdown Comics presents The Peanut Gallery: A Charlie Brown Themed Art Show with an opening reception on Friday night at 8 pm. Curated by Aristotle Acevedo, Sam Grinberg and Eduardo Cordova, the show celebrates more than 50 years of Peanuts in comics and animation. More than 100 artists created works that re-imagine some of the characters in ways you never seen before. Free drinks and Burning Buns food truck will be onsite. The show remains on view through Feb. 14.
