Get the word out and share it!
First, you don’t have to be in any way associated with the school to come out and play, so if you like the game and want to join us please do! This is a great way to connect with people in the area, so if you’re new to town come and play, we’ve planned a fun day at Braemar Country Club, with lots of food and drink, and fun games out on the course. Come one come all!
This is our first ever Charity Golf Tournament to raise money for critical programs at Carpenter Community Charter Elementary School. Registration for this inaugural event begins at 8:30 AM, where you’ll be greeted by the friendly staff at Braemar Country Club and be shown to the registration table.
Your tee prize includes a FREE pair of Adidas golf shoes, which will be available on the spot in the shoe tent. From there you can enjoy a continental breakfast, browse the raffle and auction items in person, purchase your xtra game packages or try your luck in the putting contest.
The tournament is a 4 person team scramble, and the shotgun starts at 10:30 AM sharp. Enjoy free beverages and other goodies on the course and included BBQ lunch while you’re playing. After your round, head up to the bar to enjoy a cocktail and last peek at the auction goodies before the Raffle and Live Auction begin. You’ll be seated in the Banquet room for a 3 course dinner. The live auction and raffle will be conducted by an MC while you dine and tournament results will be announced after the conclusion of the auction. Gross and Net team prizes will be awarded using Braemar’s special handicapping formula, so no index required. Return home about 6 PM with a full belly, a face sore from laughing, your prizes and really good stories!
Auction items range from playing in a celebrity foursome to exotic vacation getaways, to donated items guaranteed to delight and surprise. So, tell your friends, family, community. Let the bidding begin!

Take a Ride on the Ghost Train

where: Griffith Park, Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum, 5202 Zoo Dr., Los Angeles
cost: $10 suggested donation
ages: 6 and up
the Whaddup:
The Ghost Train won’t disappoint! The L.A. Live Steamers decks out their trains for the holiday and these scaled-down steam, diesel, and electric trains are the perfect size for your little trick-or-treaters. The 20-minute ride features a series of spooky settings and creepy displays.
But you know your kids – if they scare easily, this may not be for them. (We know 3 year olds who love it and 8 year olds who are terrified, so it’s more kid-dependent than age-dependent. And riders must be at least 34 inches tall.)

The family-friendly stroll takes about 45-minutes through the grounds. The path is stroller and wheelchair accessible. It’s not scary, like a haunted house, so it’s appropriate for all ages (unless your kids are afraid of the dark – that’s he only scary thing here!).

If you’re reading this, then you know the deal. The girls love this place, it’s like the hardware section at Sears for me. Your girl can make something frightfully nice for Halloween: a handmade card and matching envelope.
She’ll use stickers and decorative paper to make a “boo-tiful” Halloween card, then add a sweet message on the inside.
