It’s the Pits, turns the La Brea Tarpit’s museum into “a science-skewed creative salon” with artists, musicians and filmmakers who stage pop-up installations and performances throughout the museum’s spaces. L.A. creative groups/artists/collectives participating so far include Lost & Found Film Club, Tom Carroll, Ghosting, dublab, Jherek Bischoff and others. The event is free with RSVP. Parking is $10 flat rate.

Join in on Baseball FanFest 16 and Gala benefiting Max Fried’s Strikeout Crohn’s Disease on Sunday, January 17.
The Baseball Fanfest portion of the day (free to the public) is at Harvard Westlake. There will be a group of professional baseball players, including Max Fried (former Encino Little Leaguer now on the Atlanta Braves) working out in a spring training type atmosphere. The players will take time to meet the kids and fans, take pix and sign autographs.
The Gala takes place in the evening at Sportsmen’s Lodge and benefits the charity Max founded: strikeout “k” crohn’s disease – Max Fried’s Non profit charity.
